How to maintain a liquid and gas pump in daily use?

      管理员   2025-04-11
Here are some daily maintenance methods for liquid and gas pumps:

Daily Inspection

  • Visual Inspection: Regularly check the exterior of the pump for any signs of leakage, cracks, or damage. Inspect the connections of pipes and valves to ensure they are tight and free from leaks.
  • Listen for Abnormal Noises: During operation, listen carefully to the pump. Unusual noises such as grinding, knocking, or screeching may indicate problems such as worn - out bearings, impeller damage, or foreign objects in the pump.
  • Check Temperature: Feel the surface temperature of the pump. If it is overheated, it may be due to problems such as improper lubrication, excessive load, or poor heat dissipation.

Lubrication

  • Regular Oil Changes: For pumps that require oil lubrication, change the oil according to the manufacturer's recommended intervals. Usually, it is necessary to check the oil level regularly and add oil in a timely manner to ensure that the oil level is within the normal range.
  • Choose the Right Lubricant: Select the appropriate lubricant according to the working conditions and requirements of the pump. Different types of pumps and working environments may require different lubricants with specific properties such as viscosity and anti - wear characteristics.

Seal Maintenance

  • Inspect Sealing Components: Regularly check the seals of the pump, including mechanical seals and packing seals. Look for signs of wear, leakage, or damage. If there is leakage, replace the sealing components in a timely manner to prevent fluid from leaking out and affecting the performance of the pump.
  • Keep Sealing Surfaces Clean: Ensure that the sealing surfaces are clean and free from dirt, debris, and corrosive substances. Clean the surfaces regularly to prevent damage to the seals caused by foreign matter.

Filter Maintenance

  • Clean or Replace Filters: Pumps often have inlet filters to prevent foreign particles from entering the pump and causing damage. Clean or replace the filters regularly according to the degree of contamination. Clogged filters can reduce the flow rate and efficiency of the pump.
  • Check Filter Pressure Drop: Monitor the pressure drop across the filter. If the pressure drop exceeds the normal range, it indicates that the filter is clogged and needs to be cleaned or replaced.

Electrical System Maintenance

  • Check Electrical Connections: Regularly inspect the electrical connections of the pump to ensure they are tight and free from corrosion. Loose connections can cause electrical arcing, overheating, and damage to the motor.
  • Test Motor Insulation: Periodically test the insulation resistance of the pump motor to ensure that it meets the safety requirements. Poor insulation can lead to electrical leakage and safety hazards.

Operational Parameters Monitoring

  • Monitor Pressure and Flow: Keep an eye on the pressure and flow rate of the pump during operation. Abnormal changes in pressure and flow may indicate problems such as blockages, pump wear, or changes in the system.
  • Check for Overload: Ensure that the pump is operating within its rated load range. Overloading the pump can cause excessive wear, overheating, and reduced service life.

In addition, it is necessary to follow the manufacturer's operating instructions and maintenance manuals for specific pump models to ensure proper maintenance and prolong the service life of the pump.
