When the water pump in the car's radiator is leaking, the following steps can be taken:
1. First, drain the coolant from the water pump, then remove the serpentine belt. Next, use special tools to press out the water pump pulley for subsequent removal of the water pump.
2. When disassembling the water pump, first use special tools to remove the water pump bearings, and then carefully remove the impeller and seal assembly from the bearings.
3. Replace the damaged seal ring and install new gaskets, serpentine belt, and pulley to ensure the normal operation of the water pump.
4. During the assembly process, use special tools to press the bearings onto the water pump impeller, and press the impeller and seal assembly into the specified position. Then, press the water pump bearings onto the water pump pulley seat, ensuring that the bearing end face is flush with the shell. Finally, adjust the impeller plane of the water pump to be 0.1-0.3mm below the pump shell plane.
5. After assembly is complete, fill the water pump with new coolant. At the same time, check whether the water pump shaft rotates flexibly and whether there is any noticeable radial clearance in the water pump bearings.
